Personalised Escape Rooms in Barcelona

An escape room in Barcelona is great for all different types of groups visiting the city. This short and sweet activity makes a fun and engaging addition to any trip to Barcelona. Spend an hour with your friends, family or colleagues working together to crack clues, solve riddles and free yourselves from the room. Find out who can think laterally to pass the tests and escape, and who would just have been left locked in the room if you or the others hadn’t been there to free them!

Why an Escape Room?

Choose to do an escape room because you love puzzles, problem solving, teamwork and using your imagination! Whether you’re celebrating a special event or just simply looking for something to fill that hour-long gap in your itinerary, an Escape Room in Barcelona is the answer. It’s an activity that you can do any time of year and almost any time of day, so it’s also super easy to work into your visit.

Stag and Hen Groups

Book an escape room for your stag party or hen party in Barcelona. Stag and hen trips are usually about the partying, but often it’s also bringing together groups of friends and family members that might not have met before. Everyone doing an escape room is a great way to break the ice as communication is key to solving all the puzzles – you’re also guaranteed a lot of laughter along the way! Will you and your mates escape or have to be freed by an outsider in shame?

If you’re a big group, you can also add a competitive element to proceedings. Up to six people can be in each room, and there’s three rooms in each location. This means three teams can compete against each other to solve their puzzles and escape first. Will you be the winners or be locked in the room forever? (Ok, not forever, but nobody likes to lose!). Choose your teammates wisely!

Team Building Activity

An Escape Room makes a great team building activity for the same reasons it makes a great stag/hen activity, but it also encourages and reinforces a lot of useful techniques you and your colleagues can use outside the room too! Patience, communication, problem solving, and teamwork are all useful things to bring into the workplace – and an escape room is just an extra fun environment in which to put these skills to the test!

What should we expect?

Escape Rooms have exploded in popularity in recent years, which is why the rooms available are becoming more and more interesting, exciting and creative. Companies are always looking for the next best theme to include or to make their clues more innovative and fun to solve. Room of Riddles and Xcape Barcelona boast three rooms each, with tricky puzzles that will leave you scratching your heads and wondering where the next clue might come from.

It’s also important to remember that an escape room isn’t just about how difficult the challenges are. It’s about the setting, the story, the environment and, of course, your imagination! If you throw yourself full throttle into the game, you will find the activity even more entertaining.

Room of Riddles has two distinct tales to tell and Xcape Barcelona has three more that will shock you to your core.

Room of Riddles

Located near Barcelona’s Port Olimpic, the Room of Riddles Escape Rooms are all about channelling your inner Sherlock Holmes to solve some classic clues. Two rooms are identical and called the Harbour Master rooms – perfect if two teams want to compete cracking the same case (up to 12 people). What’s the aim? Simple! To become the new Harbour Masters.

The third room is called The Art Collector and you’re fighting to recover the will of a recently deceased art collector called Mr Fabiolo. Whichever room you choose, we guarantee you’ll be immersed in the story and working your hardest to escape within the 60-minute time limit.

Xcape BCN

If you’re looking for something different, something more challenging and, most importantly, something scary, then visit Xcape BCN instead. These rooms are more difficult than their Port Olimpic counterparts, and the stories are much darker…

We don’t want to reveal too much, but here are the basics. Choose “The Corpse Gallery” to become a policeman and catch a murderer; choose “Miko’s Diary” to become a school girl trying to discover what happened to her friend that disappeared, using clues left in her diary; choose “Casino Royal” to become expert thieves (think Ocean’s 11!”) and rob a mobster’s Casino! Three very different stories, three very different experiences, all in one location.

Personalise Your Experience

Best of all, the escape rooms can be personalised! For stag and hen groups we can incorporate photos of the stag or hen and make them part of solving the puzzles. For corporate groups, perhaps you’d like to include the company logo or the name of the CEO somewhere amongst the clues.

So, what are you waiting for?

In summary, these escape rooms are fun, engaging, exciting and versatile – what else do you need? Book now.

English version: How to succeed in doing an Escape Room – 4 Tips

Escape Rooms are one of the newest trends in the recent years and they keep gaining more and more popularity all around the world.  There are various types of escape rooms, each of them has a different theme, tells a different story and is organized and decorated uniquely. However, they still have something in common – you have to escape. Here, we offer you 4 general and universal tips, which will help you to escape any room, regardless of how difficult it is.

1.     Choose the type of room and your team mates wisely.

We advise you to make a wise choice when picking a room type and your team. These two factors are crucial for your success.

It is always best to create a team, consisting of people who you know well, know the way they think, their strengths, their weaknesses. Trust us, you don’t want to get locked in a room with people who you don’t like! It is also good if in your team participate diverse types of personalities, for example, one who has attention to detail, one who is good at math, one who has analytic thinking etc., so you can complete each other and everyone can contribute to the successful outcome.

When it comes to the room, there are many types of escape rooms-  one style makes players open their minds and look for hidden clues in a large themed room. Moreover, one clue leads to another and everything is related, so for example, without finding the 4 digit code hidden somewhere between the pages of the book, you won’t be able to open the locked door, behind which you will find a revealing another code. another style is more like a big puzzle. Imagine being locked in a simple room in which all the enigmas can be found and each of them is a little part of this puzzle. You just have to put them all together and you will get the final answer and manage to escape. There is no better style here. Both styles are just different and you have to choose the one you like more.

 2.     Observe and communicate

Do not just stand still and wait because the clock is ticking. Observe, look at all the details, try to relate them. Be as active as possible. Also, share your ideas with your team, do not keep them for yourself. You all have the same goal. Communicate, exchange information, ideas, shout out what you have found and always ask them for help if you need it. Teamwork is very important when you are dealing with an escape room.

3.     FAIL is just your First Attempt In Learning

If you eventually fail to escape on time, especially if it is your first try, do not get upset. It’s not something abnormal. Furthermore, don’t forget that the game master is following your game and they are here to help you, to send hints and make the experience pleasant for you. If needed, they will also give you some extra minutes to finish what you have started and manage to escape in the end. Keep in mind that every following escape game that you play you will get better and with the time you will become the master of the escape rooms.

4.     Go to the bathroom…

…prior the game. We know that this might be the strangest advice possible and many people underestimate it. You will be surprised how many times the game master will ask you to go before you start. And there is a reason for that. If you can skip the part with yourself being locked and need to go to the bathroom urgently, it is always a better idea to skip it.
